Whose "roose" is it, anyway?

Was it Robin's ruse? Batman's? Jimmy Vail's?  Alfred's?  I'm confused about who was rused, and by whom. :speechless:

I would say that in this case, Robin was the ruse-ter, and that the ruse was his.  As unlikely as it seems, the "text" of the film gives us no reason to believe that anyone else came up with the idea of having Alfred wear the Bat-suit and outrun a bunch of much younger thugs who new the area better.  The subtext is about the fluid nature of identity in the modern world or something.

Apparently the Bat-suit is one-size-fits-all, and very easy to get into quickly, much like the Don Draper identity on Mad Men.
