So, I saw an interview yesterday with Dan Harmon about this episode and, and he may be kidding, but he said the whole business with Morty's girlfriend wasn't actually in the script. Which is why there's no dialogue. When putting everything together, they realized they were about 5 minutes short, and had to add something in to make it up.

Of course, having said that, I can't find the interview again.

Well I saw "Childrick of Morty" and... it was good. Not my favorite episode by far, but maybe it'll be better after another viewing. That happens to me a LOT with Rick and Morty.
