Andy Samberg is best when he's tempered by another cast member, rather than taking over the whole show. The recent episode used him well, having all of the cast have basically the same amount of screen time. The only cast member I'm not totally on board with is Gina - she's too cartoonish and without a whole lot of depth. They've done great work to round out the other members, but she's really only a wacky one-liner machine.
I think Gina is one of the stronger females on the show. Also, she has more depth than Rosa (and she is cooler, funnier, and stronger (at least in her ability to not care about anything) than Rosa.
My example of depth for Gina is from the episode when her house got broken into. She was vulnerable, but in her own adorable way.
I want to be more like Gina in my real life. Actually....take Amy's professionalism and adoration for a father figure, Rosa's desire to beat the shit out of everyone, and Gina's one-liners and self confidence....and you have a woman I would aspire to be.
I watch this show too much.
