Well, I threatened to start this in a comment in the Funny Pictures thread, so I think I'll go ahead and do so.

I am a HUGE fan of the Foxtrot comic strip. Trying to find just one was difficult. But since my other favorite comic is Calvin and Hobbes and my favorite C&H were always his snowmen ones, this is the nice combination of both.

Sadly, I can't seem to find my favorite of Foxtrot, which was an early one with Jason irritating Paige as a pirate "Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of...*looks at bottle in his hand*...Diet Mountain Dew!"

This is a Literal New Yorker Caption.  They take New Yorker comics and give them literal captions.  I'm not sure why, but this one always makes me laugh.

Speaking of the New Yorker, this isn;t my favourite Chas Addams cartoon, but it's a close second:

Would have been funnier if they'd drawn him as a highway robber with a single upper limb.

Does that term have currency outside the UK? I don't know if it would have occurred to the artist really. :)

I've heard it quite a bit...but then again that might be because my British-born Grandmother loved playing them.
