Looking for suggestions for LOC #75!
« on: September 25, 2013, 08:51:40 PM »
Alright, it's time to send me your suggestions for LOC #75! Once I get enough, I'll start up a poll for the vote to take place. I've been told to inform the populace that while the suggestions need not be Halloween themed, that would be preferable!

If you have an idea for a list, send it to me via PM, foo!

I submitted two, but if I may suggest another: Best Halloween Treats.

Things that will not be on that list:

Other ideas:

Top 50 Vampires
Top 50 Werewolves
Top 50 "Frankensteins" (ie, any science-experiment gone wrong creature.  Or gone right.  Let's say handmade monsters)
Top 50 Scary Movie Scenes
Top 50 Halloween TV episodes and specials
Top 50 Horror Writers
Top 50 Rifftrax... for Halloween!

I still wanna do Top 50 Novelty Songs, but I'm so busy I dunno that I'd have time to host it.  I'll table that for a few months.

Come on, guys! I still haven't gotten anything from anybody, except John-boy.

EDIT: Added the poll. Maybe THAT will give you guys motivation.

Would you be up for hosting?  Technically, at this moment, I'm hosting all the categories, but if someone wants to stake a claim on a couple, I'm open to it.  Except Ghosts.  That's mine.

Yeah, I have some stuff going on that will keep me from being a good list poster this month. Rooting for Frankensteins, personally. I love mad science gone awry. :^)

Keep in mind:

For ghosts, I'll include certain "spirits" that may never have been alive.  You know, ghost like ephemeral entities.

I'll also include haunted places that have a ghost or ghosts, but for whatever reasons, the ghosts have no identity of their own.  For example, the house from Poltergeist and the hotel room from 1408.

As for Frankensteins, it can include things that were once a guy or an animal.  It doesn't have to be made from scratch.  Many mutants count, but only if they were created through human actions.  No X-Men.

Good good that answers two of the three questions I had, the other one was; "real" or from fiction or both?

Dolly the sheep, that thing from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, the bloke in The Lawnmower Man, things like that I think.

Well there's obvious choices like Frankenweenie and Herman Munster, and you could probably make a case for the likes of Darth Vader or Robocop.

No I had the impression it was the theme of Frankenstein that Johnny was getting at rather than reanimated corpses only.

Reanimated corpses would certainly count, but it would be any creature or machine "monster" created by SCIENCE!

That just kind of seems vague. So any robot counts?
I get the idea it's an experiment gone wrong, as in unintentional consequences.

That would be the theme I was referring to (though more accurately the theme of the book is "playing god" and "what it means to exist" but "experiment gone wrong" or "scientific hubris" will also do).
