On the contrary, I think it's safe to say that religions seemed perfectly safe and unaffected by bad authors and filmmakers until that hack, Dan Brown, cranked out his, admittedly decent, book and it suddenly became trendy to believe what was once considered blasphemy, and has been thoroughly discredited.

I only read the first few pages of DaVinci Code and I couldn't continue with it. Just as the Wicker Man remake is an affront to Pagans, so id the DaVinci Code to me.
