RENEWED!

 :highfive:

Strange to see a network a) have a show worth paying attention too and b) recognizing that the show is good enough to continue producing it.

I posted this elsewhere but I thought I'd say it here. The scenes with Will having trouble grappling with time and reality in the last couple episodes is easily one of the most compelling things to make the air in the last couple years of TV. So utterly happy that this show got picked up for a second season. Last night's episode was excellent. Also, this episode made me feel more for Will due to the scene where Hannibal decides to withhold the information about his brain scan. It made me mad, even.

Also, the fish gutting hallucination. Wow. Bryan Fuller also tweeted this out, regarding the clock test: http://www.seniorpsychiatry.com/articles/10ptclocktest.html. That reveal of Will's drawing was unnerving and haunting.

Man, I love this show. I can't remember being so entranced and invested in a series this early on in its run. I know it's from an older episode but I still adore this shot:

This show has great acting, visual items and plots.......

I am sure the smart people at NBC are glad they have this show rather than AMC having it.

That's a great point, actually. This is the kind of series you usually see on HBO, Showtime, AMC, or the FX channel. This would be right at home airing between Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and Justified.  Besides quality its also the fact that 12-13 episode seasons give you better pacing and energy than 20-24 episode seasons do.

Also, Bryan Fuller is a fucking genius.

I saw the first three episodes.  Not my cup of tea so far.

The Graham guy isn't interesting.  Lecter has the personality of a cold mackerel.  The female psychiatrist is tedious.  Fishburne is good.  The asian FBI agent is good.  They should have had some greasy slimeball play Leeds...think Joe Pantiliano instead of that redhead chick.  The IQ of the dialogue feels low.  It's just a plain old cop drama with gore.

Does the show get better or is that about it?

I believe one must allow a TV series to ripen and mature before judging it.

Hannibal starts to get good at episode 6.

From reading the books, you get to know a lot about Will.   This show really looks deeper into the characters....all of them.

Wow, what a finale. Truly one of the strongest first seasons of any show that I can remember watching. Really phenomenal stuff. As sad as I am that we have to wait til next year for more, I think its quality will benefit from the 13-episode season format (as we've already seen). There were so many great things in the finale but some of my favorite parts were the callback to the clock test, as well as the quick ten or so second scene with Alana in her car, which was just heartbreaking to watch. Every actor brought it this episode but Caroline Dhavernas was brilliant. Her outburst in Jack's office was startling.

Agreed.

And the look the two guys gave each other at the end was great too.    They both know each other now....... and realize how hard their next steps will be.

And I NEVER saw or heard of the clock test before.   That was very cool.

You don't remember it from the earlier episode, or you hadn't heard of it before the show? Cause I hadn't heard of it before I saw it here, and like many other aspects of the show, it fascinated me.

Never heard of it before the show.

I never had a mental test before, so that makes sense.   But I have never seen that in a movie or read it in a book before.

I've seen it somewhere but can't remember where.

But yeah, AWESOME finale. I'm not so fast to believe Will remembers his last conversation with Will. He was pretty out of it. Can't wait to find out.

Of course, this show is a bit different from the books, but not SOOOO much different and not annoying, so the difference I can live with.

I like the books but the show is so good that the books can go to Hell at this point.
