Last time I played a video game was Techmo Bowl, in like 1989. Before that it was the original Pong. So yeah, not going to be able to contribute to that one ;)

I had to go look at a timeline for Sierra, looks like a lot of the adventure games I played on the PC were in the late 80's, only a few in the early 90s.

Oh, and here's a question, would it have to be TV game shows?  No, I'm not thinking of the gong show movie, but I am thinking of radio and podcast game shows.  I don't listen to any but still...

I suppose it wouldn't have to be TV shows, though honestly, nothing else even occurred to me. I've never heard of the Gong Show movie. There are a few broadcasts on NPR that could count as game shows that I've listened to. Can't remember their titles though.

Also, is the quote button broken?

Well, I guess the Gong Show isn't really a game show as an America's Got Talent type deal.  Before my time really.  But they made a movie of it.

I played a few, but I wouldn't contribute to the list basically because it would be Doc's dream list.  That or "Best Citisen Kaen movies!"

Yes, let's do Game Show in the future for sure.

I remember Beat the Geeks and Paul Goebel! And the Star Trek geek was the kid from Trekkies. Paul would be a cool PMC guest at some point...

I loved Beat the Geeks.  And boy, do I miss Supermarket Sweep.

Maybe with all the interest we can pimp game shows for the next round

I'll be happy to host Game Shows, since I'm the one who keeps suggesting it. Just keep in mind it would be my first time hosting. I'll submit it again for next list.

The one I really liked that no one else remembers was Bumper Stumpers. They'd show cryptic vanity license plates and the contestants had to figure out what they said. And I also watched Supermarket Sweep. People would always go straight for the whole turkeys. They should have gone for the spices. Especially the saffron (if there was any). By weight, that stuff is worth more than gold.

The key to Supermarket Sweep was coils of garden hose. MONEY. I remember Bumper Stumpers as well -- they would show two different vanity plates and then say "Which one belongs to a plastic surgeon?" or something and they'd buzz in and try do decode/guess which one it was.

Ok, the Game Show list will be a ton of fun...

I changed my vote also. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

What about radio and TV panel games?

I have no problem with them.

Now, I wouldn't be voting for them, but what about reality game shows that have winners and clear goals like Survivor or American Idol?

Edit: or comedy shows that have games like Whose Line or Bunk (or did that fall in with Panel Games).

Well, looks like we might have a horse race, and with panel games allowable that's just perfect. :)

Changed my vote also to throw my weight behind one of the front-runners.

After not being allowed to vote for a certain game show as a TV Comedy on that LOC, I look forward to doing that one (if it wins!)
