Missed my chance to see Dave when he was in Winnipeg very recently.  Felt bad but good since the show was sold out.

Poor Dave.  He's a phenominal talent (and my favourite kid.  Used to be Bruce, but I was slowly converted by rewatching his performances) and looked like he was ready to get some real star power and it just never happened.  Then came a lot of life problems.  Now he's doing a lot of stand-up.  Hope to see him get to do something big soon.

My thoughts:
Two characters, from Airplane! and Naked Gun, brought him this high on the list.  And I can't agree more with his placement.   

I love Naked Gun, but I find Airplane is stronger since he plays it straight, which makes it much funnier when the laugh lines come out.

One of his greatest performances.  Eff Al Pacino and Alec Baldwin!  Jack Fuckin' Lemmon owned both of them in that film.  You want to see an actor act, watch Lemmon in Glengarry Glen Ross.

My thoughts:
Not quite a legend, but quite possibly a legend in the making.  Really funny guy when he has the right material.  Love Shaun, Hot Fuzz and Spaced.  Some of his other stuff, not so much.

You should watch Big Train on YouTube. Great sketch show that unfortunately has only a handful of episodes.

One of the things that cracks me up the most about Simon Pegg is when he said, via tweet, that he was on hold with the bank, and his daughter walked in the room and he said, "Hello, fart face!" just as the person from the bank picked up. I don't know why that was so hilarious for me, except I call my kids and husband fart face, too, and I can totally see that happening to me.

Also his movies are the shit.

I don't know about that.  The Naked Gun films are faves of mine, with 2 1/2 being my favorite.  Sure, he plays the role more like he is in on the joke than he did on Police Squad, but I still found the movies really funny.

And only the first couple episodes of Police Squad were good.  The rest were crap.  Unfortunately.

I haven't seen them in ages, but I remember the quality took a nose dive beyond the first couple of episodes.  And they were really straining for jokes.

I guess I should revisit them.  Maybe they are better than I remember.  Still love the Naked Gun though.
