They have to pay a shit load of money for these guys, so they have to get their moneys worth by showing that these "stars" are actually in the movie.

I don't know why they don't just hire unknown actors who can play the part and save some money and let the hero's have their masks.  I mean it's not like hiring Chris Reeves over Robert Redford hurt Superman, but now a days I get the impression that Reeves would not have even been aloud to try out for the part.

Superman doesn't wear a mask.

I know that but what I was pointing out was that the reason we see the actor's faces and they don't wear masks is because the actors who play superheros are now always big names so the studio doesn't want to cover their faces.  I was just pointing out that casting an unknow that the studio doesn't care if his face is covered up doesn't have to hurt the movie.

Everyone assumes that but the only example I can think of of an unknown being cast in a superhero movie is Superman and it did great.  I think people go more to see the heroes then they do to see the actors.

Yeah, he was.  At least when he was cast in the movie he was an unknown.  By the time the movie came out everybody knew who he was, but only because he was the new Superman.

And just because he was on a soap opera and had a bit part or two here and there, does not make one a household name.  To the vast majority of the public at the time, it was "Christopher Who?"  or "I wonder if he is related to George Reeves?" (the TV Superman from the '50s).

Chris Hemsworth was a relative unknown when he played Thor.

Yeah, they both had established stars in them.  Try getting a movie filmed entirely with unknowns to make the kind of money studios are looking for.

Yeah, even Star Wars had Alec Guinness.

OK so I was RIGHT.

Cap kept taking off his mask, and even found a way to get it conveniently ripped off by the alien at the end.  Puh-leeze.

Hawkeye never even had a mask.  Weak.  Jeremy Renner's face totally sucks.

Iron Man existed for all of 1 minute on screen, the rest of the time it was Robert Downey Jr, Robert Downey Jr,  Robert Downey Jr,  Robert Downey Jr.

Thor didn't have his head wingy things as per usual.

Even Loki gets to take off his horns for like 90% of the movie WTF.

The Hulk's face look like Mark Ruffalo.  They even gave the Hulk Mark Ruffalo's messed up hair, which is wilder than the Hulk's normal hair LOL.

Black Widow no complaints.  Maybe she was a tad to voluptuous for the role but still, no complaints.  LOVE that chunky ass and legs she has.

Even Hollywood would never be so brazen as to figure out a way to crowbar in a scene where Nick Fury takes off the eyepatch.

Hey Renner and Downey...shitcan the ego already.

This why I say always go the Superman route and cast stars as the supporting cast.  Things like Family members of the superheros, the love interests, the villains, and people who run the places like Shield but cast unknowns as the heroes.  If we are not going to see the heroes on screen what is the point of making the movie.  From the sound of it that may as well have called the movie The Super Model Justice Squad since we never see any of the heroes on screen.

Thanks for the warning.  I have to really think about if I am going to see this molvie.  I mean do I really want to pay $12 to see a superhero movie that doesn't have an Superheros in it :-\
