I always forget that Toy Story 2 is a 90s movie. I always think it came out in 2000.

Yeah, a lot of these movies came out in '99, which was a great year for movies.

How much can you know about yourself if you've never been in a fight?

Their concept gained popularity with the underground "Fight Club", formed in every city, has gradually been forgotten until the eccentric, lit control spiral.

Trivia fact! Courtney Love and Winona Ryder were both initially considered for the role of Marla Singer, but in the end, it came down to Helena Bonham Carter and Reese Witherspoon. Director David Fincher wanted Bonham-Carter, but the studio wanted a bigger name and chose to go with Witherspoon. In the end however, the decision was taken out of their hands when Witherspoon turned down the role as being "too dark", and Bonham-Carter was cast.

I never really liked Fight Club. I should probably give it another watch though.

Thank God Greese Reese wasn't cast (pronounced Gree-Zee Ree-Zee).

ticking time bomb insomnia

slippery soap salesman

original male treatment

lit control spiral.

Too many great album titles in one synopsis!

Fight Club is a good movie, but it doesn't completely speak to me (though it's easy to relate to the narrator's initial ennui/malaise/frustrations).  Didn't make the list but a movie that's easy to sit down and watch.

Fight Flub's message is one that's become a little less pointed as the years go by and what its griping about aren't as ever-present as they were. Still a kick ass movie on its own, of course.

One of the more brilliant dark comedies in the last 2-3 decades, it's still kind of amazing to me that a major studio funded this.

Never saw it.

I'm going to be honest with you.  Fight Flub isn't a real movie.  No matter how much I wish otherwise.

Trivia fact! William H. Macy begged the directors for the role of Jerry Lundegaard. He did two readings for the part, and became convinced he was the best man for the role. When the Coens didn't get back to him, he flew to New York (where they were starting production) and said, "I'm very, very worried that you are going to screw up this movie by giving this role to somebody else. It's my role, and I'll shoot your dogs if you don't give it to me." He was joking, of course.

Just want to say again that I love these plot summaries.

Fargo is a great one and if I had done a list, it would have been on there.

So...is Fargo a comedy? I didn't realize that. Not sure why I didn't know that. But I love the idea of a comedy with all those hilarious Minnesotan accents. I should give this one a try.
