Hey, look at that! A completely wrong opinion!

This is becoming so common, I'm starting to think you're not joking...

This is what's happening in my head whenever I watch a Western movie:

I do disagree with you, but the manner in which I stated it was jokingly, of course.  If I were really taking this list seriously, then I'm pretty sure I would've gone off in a huff when I tallied the results together in the first place.  :)

So glad to see Muppet Christmas Carol on there. Easily my favorite Christmas Carol adaptation, although Scrooged is great too.

And I know for a FACT that that damn "Love is Gone" song is on my DVD of the movie, because I have to fast forward through it EVERY DAMN TIME. The song taken on it's own isn't bad. Overly sappy, but that is kind of the point. It's just that it stops the whole movie dead for a few minutes!

Yes, pretty much. It's not a bad song, but... It isn't catchy. It's repetitive. The lyrics aren't particularly profound or interesting in their wordplay... It doesn't enhance the story at all for me and, like DG said, stops the movie dead.

#18 - Galaxy Quest

Good to see Galaxy Quest make it so high. It was definitely on my list.

And that is an crazy awesome poster!

I have the BluRay, but may not have checked out the commentary yet for Star Trek 2009, but I should. I love that quote.

I literally remember absolutely nothing about Galaxy Quest, except that Tim Allen and Alan Rickman are in it, and that I went to see it on a date with APGIL before we were married.

Oh definitely check it out again, then. It holds up very well.

Oi. so much to recap here...

Muppet Christmas Carol is the shit. Best adaptation of Christmas Carol, period. Been one of my favorites since I was a kid, probably because it was one of my aunt's favorite movies, and would sit us down to watch it, regardless of the time of year.

I may be alone in this, but I didn't particularly care for MST3k: The Movie. It didn't feel right to me, and just didn't seem as funny as their usual material.

I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT GALAXY QUEST. Dammit. I remember enjoying it a lot, again, watching it at a relative's house a fair amount of times.

Clerks is unfortunately something I HAVEN'T seen, but really, really want to see.

Now that I think about it, most of these things I grew attached to before my angsty I-dislike-everything-I-previously-enjoyed phase. Glad that's over.

I keep meaning to watch Galaxy Quest, but also keep putting it off for whatever reason. I do need to ask, though, is it accessible to someone who's not a Star Trek fan? I've got nothing against the franchise or anything I've just seen absolutely none of it outside the newest movie. So I'm wondering how much of an in-joke that movie might be and how much might go over my head because of it.

Can't believe the MST movie didn't make it higher.

And Galaxy Quest does hold up very well, great cast, Tim Allen at his best.  And who can go wrong with Alan Rickman?

And I'm not a Star Trek fan.

I remembered the MST3K movie, but I just had a hard time putting it on a list of great movies, when it is essentially just scenes from a really bad movie.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it.  I just didn't think it belonged.  It's really its own thing.
