He was persuaded to return home after years in exile to overthrow the usurper, and claimed to own thus completing the "Circle of Life in the country.

I was just as shocked as anyone. Wouldn't call it great, yeah, but it's a far cry from the reputation it gets.

Ah, this is nice to see. One of those movies I never get tired of, it's pretty much the perfect creature feature horror/comedy. Everything about it works wonders. It's also a bit of a marvel that the sequels are as good as they are (for real: Aftershocks I like nearly as much as the first, and three and four have more than their fair share of charm. The TV series was also pretty good as well, if tragically cut short).

Trivia fact! The iconic red stapler coveted by Milton was created for the film by the prop department. They needed a bright enough color to be seen on film and chose red. After the film was released, Swingline began to receive requests from customers for red staplers. Having stopped offering red a number of years before, they made the decision to start offering the color once more. 

I've seen those. The problem is, they don't actually look like the prop from the movie. Yet they are sold as if they are identical, and are more expensive than the other ones.

The only parts about the Grinch that really work are all the stuff they directly took from the book and the animated cartoon, and the makeup. It was all the stuff they added that fucked it up. So had they done this as a short, it would have been much better. Hell, I said it years ago, if they want to do Seuss adaptations, make it an anthology.

I think Horton's the better of the two but they're both very sweet, funny and true to the books imo.

yessss tremors is brilliant.  i was a bit worried it wouldnt make it.  and yes the sequels(and prequel) are actually watchable still haven't gotten the tv show yet opinions?

The Truman Show is a great movie all around.  It's also a movie that sticks with you after watching, since I think we all have had that vain/paranoid fantasy that we are being watched and/or that this world was made especially for you.  A lot of people say that it predicted the reality TV boom (not before Real Life and I think it was close enough to the cusp that it wasn't that hard to see coming) but the interesting thing is that in a way it's almost antithetical in that the main character finds his fame terrifying and oppressive rather than chasing after it like a hungry whore-wolf (patent pending).  If anything it's more akin to what a lot of actors experience.  Intentional or not, did a better job on that subject than Papparazzi.  Then again, so did the Pirate Movie.

Tremors is definitely a fun movie and easy to watch, but it didn't make my list.  I just knew that for all it's fun, it didn't just grab me (see what I did there?) the right way for that.

Yeah, both of the modern animated Seuss movies are very enjoyable. Lorax spends a bit too much time slamming its message home loud and clear, but Horton is just wonderfully cute and fairly hilarious (and also featuring Jim Carrey, to loop the conversations back around). They're definitely worth checking out.

Give the show a look, for sure. It suffers a bit from the effects budget, but it's got a lot of cool stories and generally feels like a Tremors show should. Also, a super-subdued Christopher Lloyd shows up for a few episodes and is awesome.
