Odd Man Out by Ronald Biggs is pretty good as is Mr. Nice by Howard Marks. Of course it depends on the sort of crime you're interested in.

I can also make some of the more sordid/violent/disturbing recommendation but those aren't everybody's cup of tea (they aren't mine really but I know which ones are well regarded).
