Normally would have watched at least one Spring Training game by now, but just not excited about this year due to the few moves that the Cubs have made seem to have them primed for being worse this year. Anything can happen once the season begins,  but short of a half dozen players having career seasons I think this will be a .500 year for them.

Never thought I'd miss listening to spring training games, but now that they are cancelled I do miss it.

Tomorrow was supposed to be opening day at Milwaukee. Cubs at Brewers. Booked a hotel 3 weeks ago and put in for vacation. Held off on buying tickets because virus was really starting to make the news and thought what if...naw probably just being pesimistic. Amazing how things changed so quickly.
Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament would have started tommorow as well.

MLB has announced virtual opening day, they will stream old opening day games for each team.

They also said the MLBtv app will be opened up to let people watch any game for the last few years.

These summer camp games are so weird.  4 out innings sometimes, batting out of order, guys in the game pinch running, and then the possibility of 10th innings no matter what the score is.

Yeah...excited that baseball season is starting, but oddities already adding up and skeptical things will make it to a complete post season. Would be more optomistic and could better deal with the oddities if they were confined to less cities (yeah, no fans, but still living and playing in big cities with no way for onsite confinement).

Announcers for national broadcasts are terrible with ARod on ESPN being the worst.
Fox fake digital crowd in stands (not constant, but they've added them a few times here and there) kind of cool.
Fake crowd noise needs work- when opposing team scores a run, home crowd shouldn't cheer.
Illinois allowing Wrigley roof crowds at quarter capacity. Don't feel safe traveling, but so want to go see a game via rooftop.

So nice to have Larry Anderson and Scott Franzke on the radio again, I still miss Harry Kalas but Scott has done very well these last 10 seasons.

Also very nice to be able to listen to manager interviews again, I couldn't stand the BS Gabe would say, Joe Girardi actually talks about real stuff.

So looked into the Cubs rooftop thing a bit more figuring I could drive down with no stops, stay in one of the couple of nearby hotels, go to the rooftop to see the game, and drive straight back the next day. Wrigleyville hotel far cheaper than normal, but normal $100 rooftop tickets going for $400+ each. So not happening.

So the Marlins are heavily infected, they don't want the Yankees coming into the clubhouse the Marlins were just using so tonight's Phillies game is postponed.

Don't see how they can postpone games with the schedule so tight.

Foresee the season being cancelled or at least postponed soon. 12 Marlins players and 2 coaches positive, so pretty significant number that should see them all out for a minimum of 10 to 14 days.

If Phillies players start to test positive, this could be a bad omen for College Football and Basketball and the NFL which have a higher level of contact than baseball. (NBA too, but NBA trying the "bubble" thing which be harder to pull off in other sports with more teams and players- although sounds like some NBA players not respecting the "bubble".)
