I'd really like to be able to have MLB on my PS3, but they don't consider us EU users for that kind of thing.

Maybe see if it's supported on the WDTV Live over there? It is in the US.

That's an impressive RVR impression there, DB.

(I would totally buy a similar package for Cricket though)

I love cricket. I remember watching matches from Lord's with my dad when we were staying in London, many, many summers ago. Also got to take some batting practice before one of the club matches in Headley. A lot harder than it looks!

We need one more team for our Head To Head league. The draft is Saturday & we can't start with an odd number of teams.  Anyone else interested?  It's free, it's for fun, etc.

I was thinking about getting the MLB.TV package to use on my PS3 this year.  Anybody have any experience with that specifically for PS3?  I have had the PC version in the past. How does the PS3 version compare?   I would gladly just buy the cable TV version if all of the games had both home and away feeds and were all in HD.

Darn, now it looks like Chase Utley won't be playing at all in spring training, and doubtful for opening day.

If it is arthritis now in both knees, that's not good.  :'(

Man, I knew it was tough losing Pujols, but I didn't realize things were this bad.

Magic Johnson Team Wins L.A. Dodgers with $2 Billion Bid

Quote
Former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Magic Johnson and partners have won the bankruptcy court auction for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Major League Baseball and team owner Frank McCourt announced Tuesday night. Johnson's group has agreed to buy the team from the beleaguered McCourt for a record $2 billion, the highest price ever paid for a North American sports franchise. The deal still must be approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware. McCourt threw the team into bankruptcy last June while he fought through a contentious divorce with Jamie McCourt that brought to light the Dodger organization's financial problems.

Johnson's ownership group is a collection of deep-pocketed businessmen and others with sports business experience; it is largely funded by Chicago-based financial services firm Guggenheim Partners and the company's CEO, Mark Walter, would be the controlling owner.

The $2 billion sale price would shatter the previous record price for a North American sports team of $1.1 billion paid for the Miami Dolphins in 2008 by Stephen Ross, CEO of Related Cos. In the lead-up to the sale of the Dodgers, analysts had predicted the team, winner of six World Series titles and one of Major League Baseball's most storied franchises, could fetch as much as $1.6 billion.

McCourt and "certain affiliates of the purchasers" would acquire the Chavez Ravine property around Dodger Stadium for an additional $150 million, according to a statement from the team. Transfer of the team is expected to take place by the end of April so that McCourt can satisfy terms of his divorce settlement and pay his ex-wife $131 million, which is due April 30. The baseball season begins April 4.

Damn, Dodgers. You expensive!

I was hoping Cuban would buy the team, or maybe even Peter O'Malley buy back the team, but I'll take this. Let's move on. No drama. Just good baseball.

Anyone else see the opener in Miami last night? That place makes Vegas look understated and dignified. Seriously, at least Vegas knows it's fake. Fuckin' Miami...GAH!!!

Lohse was dealing! The Cards are gonna have to play smaller ball, but it looks as if they can definitely put hits on the board.
