Unfortunately, my list only exists in the PM I sent to Darth Geek, about 2 minutes before the deadline, so unfortunately I can't recall the order of the ones I put on there (it was only a top 11 list, though I did have a few extra side lists as well). But I did want to take a moment to endorse a handful of ones that made lists, but didn't make the top 50.
Yor - Garrett Gilchrist
This didn't make my list because of a major technical issue...namely, the jokes are so densely packed in that it is obvious that they were recorded and edited in later, since there isn't even time for a breath to be taken before the next gag begins, which took me out of the moment. However, what actually IS in there is very well written, and I do think it's a mighty shame Garrett only recorded two tracks before disappearing once more into the ether. And now that Yor is actually readily available on DVD (which it was not at the time he recorded this), it should get more recognition than it does.
mr. b natural - Cat Women on the Moon
This one definitely caught me by surprise, because it was one that won me over on a second viewing. Like a lot of MST3K episodes, I had it on in the background while I was doing other things the first time I played it, but the second time around I actually viewed it intently, and it was very enjoyable. Mr. b is a very laid back riffer, and it is a style that grows on you, where you don't even notice it until you realize you've bought two or three more to watch. "Them!" was also fun, but if you're willing to try him out, this is definitely the place to start.
Heated Seats - Marked for Death
For those of you who know SmilinJackRoss from the forums, he started up a riffing group and has a handful of titles under his belt. It was a close call between this and Runaway, but I went with this one because the movie itself is a much more ludicrous affair, and the ending riffs were all the more fun as the insanity grew by leaps and bounds. Not sure if this one is streaming...I had to grab a copy of the movie from work to watch it, myself...but they keep getting better with every release.
Phantom Empire Chapter - Corny Commentaries
I actually enjoy the serial crossover specials by everybody, but this one has a special place in my heart...namely, "Shoooo-oooes!" I can't explain it, that line gets me every time. But if you've never been privy to the Lost City/Phantom Empire serials (and since none of the individual episodes made it into the top 50), each chapter is done by a different riffing group, each with wildly (and most of the time hysterical) results. Be sure to collect the whole set!
But congrats to Ronin! That Meg Foster video is quite the endorsement. And to everyone else who did make the list, a very hearty thumbs up!
