Do you know Cradle of Filth made a movie? It's called...Cradle of Fear.  It's awful.  But it does have the lovely Emily Booth in it.

Satyricon were actually once a great band, though. Nemesis Divina was a stellar release.

However, with the latest album, I'm left scratching my head. It's as if Satyr decided he wanted to make as much money as possible so he'd water the band's music down further and release the steaming turd known as Now, Diarrheal.
my entry made my girlfriend laugh a few times, the best I can hope for really.

I'd say Whalberg definately qualifies as really good.

Do i know? I pre-ordered the stupid thing! An underground horror movie featuring members of a goth/death/black-kinda' metal band? I said count me in! Ya' know... then i actually got the VHS tape in the mail~ At least it has a Tales From The Crypt anthology thing going on... which is more than Necrophagia's long-form music video thingie: Through Eyes Of The Dead. Talk about bad~

PS- Which one's Emily Booth?

She's the one who gets massacred in the bed.  She used to present a kind of horror movie show late at night and she's very attractive.  A quick search on google image will give you some idea of how much.

...

Alright, so i caught the show last night. 3Inches Of Blood kinda' had this Judas Priest sound to them, and were actually pretty good. I was never a huge fan of that 80s screaming metal, but it's grown on me over the years. Anyway, these guys do it well. And they have two vocalists, which was weird. But yeah... small doses of these guys are probably best~

The 69Eyes were confusing. I think they're a buncha' German guys, maybe Russian? They had a weird Nikki Sixx, leather punk, goth metal image. And i'm pretty sure they were trying to be the movie Lost Boys~ At times they kinda' sounded like Type O, but otherwise they really sucked.

Finally Cradle came out and put on an average show. Mostly songs from the new album, and a straight forward stage set-up. Nothing fancy and nothing great really... they were much better when i caught them a few years ago. But the sound was horrible, so that sucked... probably the venue's fault.

Anyway, the most annoying thing was the crowd. What the hell is up with people constantly trying to take a damn picture with their effing cell phones?!~ I felt like i watched about a third of the show through someone's viewfinder. Take a picture, fine... but don't take a million of them, and don't hold it up in front of me while you try to record 30seconds of a blurry, distorted mess. Argh!

And in addition to that, the following bands will be playing in LA around the summer:

Immortal
Emperor (AGAIN!)
Atheist (probably their only west coast date)
Cynic

Am I missing anyone else? Probably, but you know what? That's still one HELL of a summer and a damn fine year for metal.

Holy Crap.  I'm tempted to go to California just to see Cynic play.  I guess this is just something they periodically do?  I know most of the members have moved on to other projects.

Damn.  They need to come to New York  :)
I've sort of fused Flashdance with MC Hammer shit.

This is the first time they've re-united since they broke up. They've played a few shows here and there, and in fact will be playing the Maryland Deathfest (http://www.supremebrutality.com/fest/lineup.html) in May. That's much closer to you than California, and without all the assholes that seem to thrive on the southern part of the left coast.

Hey guys, here's a heads-up on a couple of stellar releases coming up:

http://www.willowtip.com/ (the main page should have a couple of mp3s you can play off of the upcoming Odious Mortem album, due 4/24)

http://www.neurotic-records.com/index_disavowed.html (couple of mp3s from the new Disavowed album - not sure WHEN it's coming out, but the record has been finished so it shouldn't be too much longer)
