For re-authorers

You'll need to add exactly 1 second of silence at the beginning of the source track and cut 0.022 from the riff track to line up with the demuxed video.

That's nothing compared to the hatchet job you have to do on Shake Hands with Danger in order get the source audio to line up with the riff.

I actually edited the riff into the full-length version, since they cut out a bunch of funny parts. The downside is that it was riff-free from some of it.

Call it Free did it too, as part 1 and part 2 have a massive cut in between. I think they cut stuff out of the ones they split into 2. They did it to a few others, I just don't remember what they were.

Why are you reauthoring the shorts?  Do you like to watch them unriffed?

That, and some people like to do their own audio mixes.

I add the unriffed audio and the riffed audio to the DVD.

I do it so that the audio levels and mixes are the same across 10 shirts at a time. That is the number of shorts I put on each of my DVDs.

The early shorts had volume levels that were very inconsistent which was bad for compilations (as MrTorso said), plus the ducking was extreme. The recent shorts have been much better, though, so I'm considering just leveling the mixed audio to my previous shorts instead of re-mixing the raw files.
