I own this CD, so that's how I knew about this particular track.  Judy Collins it is not.  Although you could almost here some garage rock band from the late '60s doing a version similar to this.

Hole are the worst.  Judy Collins' version is okay, but Joni Mitchell always makes her songs sound so...personal, that even a decent rendering doesn't really compare.

Do you know why Joni was able to bring that quality to her singing? It's a story that's sad then nice as long as you end it with the reunion, it just gets really sad again after that.

I love that Bing Crosby video.  He just does not give a shit about the song he's singing. 

Although it's probably because he's absolutely hammered and barely able to remember the words, let alone care about them.

I'd heard most of the others - the Andy Williams one isn't so terrible - but I didn't want to post too many examples, ruining the original forever.

I've been wandering around on Spotify trying to find some of the worst covers of Joni Mitchell's beautiful Both Sides Now. 

I bet it's been 25 years since I last heard this song. I've got this on an LP somewhere. I think it was the Roger Whitaker version. Great song regardless. Thank you for reminding me of it's existence
