Ok how is twilight a saga?
« on: March 29, 2010, 06:57:52 AM »
I mean don't sagas have to have something big at stake and doesn't there scope have to be big?  Twilight the only stakes are if two selfish teenagers get together and the scope seems to be limited to a small section of washington.  How is that a saga?

Frau Grushenstauffer was such a bore in that, she makes Bella look absolutely captivating.

But Grendel was by far a better, tortured soul type character as opposed to Edward Cullen.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

At least, though, since there's so much that happens in the last book, and because they are competing in a way with the Potter Series, they're thinking of making it TWO movies!!! ;D ;D  TWO RIFFS!!!!

I think the correct definition is actuall somewhere in the vicinity of "narrative of heroic exploits" but surprisingly it isn't about Edward and Bella...but you. It is your story, the heroic story of your endurance.  If you finish all the books of eventually all of the movies, your saga is complete. Congratulations.

 :D

Three more movies :gouge:  I don't think i can take another two or three years or seeing Twilight every time I go out in public.  I mean it i can not go into any store with out a dozen tvs shoving the movies in my face at their loudest volume.  I wouldn't care enough about Twilight to hate it if it was possible to ignore it but as it stands now if you want to live you have to be a Twilight fan.

Well, depending on how they do the bizarre events in the third book, the news stories about the movies and fan reaction may be quite interesting.
