The armadillo is vital!
« on: March 12, 2010, 08:09:43 PM »
Ok, I registered for this forum just so I could share this with people who would actually understand:

A few months ago, I got a job at a prop house.  We specialize in death-related props but we've also got some labware and animal stuff.  A couple weeks in, I'm organizing one of our websites when I see this screencap: http://www.bjwinslow.com/gallery/animalparts/mouth_covering.  That's when I realize where I've seen the armadillo that sits in front of my desk before.

Me:  Oh my God!  Did we provide the armadillo for Twilight?
My Boss:  Uh, yes.
Me:  That armadillo is (kind of ) famous (among a select group of people)!
My Boss: ....?

Then came the explanation, which was probably more lengthy than necessary.  So now, every day, I get to go to work, see that stupid armadillo, and smile.  Thanks, Rifftrax.

Wow, it's an honor to be talking to someone who works with the most only beloved character from the film!

Well, that's great, but you're missing the important bit: who provided them with the Golden Onion? Huh? That's what's truly important!

(BTW: Did you provide the half dog for Return of the Living Dead too?)

No...the most important question is....WHERE DID THE ARMADILLO GO?!?!?!?!?

(semi-seriously...did it have a different booking the day they did the shots from that angle or did someone just forget to deliver it that day?   ;)  Or was it just the usual...set dresser screwed up...)

Surprisingly, that armadillo is one of the busiest voice actors in Hollywood. He does a lot of anime and video games.

I would love it if we could get the armadillo for the guys to sign and throw up on eBay or something as a fundraiser. Maybe for charity. (The Give Erik Coffee Foundation.)

I listened to a little of the dvd's commentary and did catch the director saying she put the armadillo there since she's from Texas.  Didn't stay with it long enough to see if she mentioned why it disappeared.

Did she mention the heavy-handed "symbolism" of shooting Edward from the angle that made the wings of the stuffed owl behind him look like they were coming from his shoulders?
