Good god what a strange film!     This must have been pretty shocking back in the early 30s.

 

Hell! It's Still Shocking Today!!

That movie did make me lament the fact that I dont have a basement in my house in Houston.   I could bury people behind walls, have plump matrons fight to the death..... oh the possibilities.

That and an up-to-date kitchen really firms up the resale value of any home in these economic times.

I learned that the transition between silent films and talkies was not a smooth one.  Think about how the scene after the guy gets the shot would have played in a silent film, that's just the kind of acting that would have gone on, they guy probably talked like that in silent films while he was acting but it didn't matter....

Always use a stethoscope on corpses in the morgue to make sure sure they're dead. You know how iffy monoxide poisening can be. And coroners. they send living people to the city morgue all the time...

I think that movie is too messed up for Comedy Central or even Sci Fi standards.

I learned that either me or the movie was on drugs when I watched it.  Up until the eye popping scene, I was pretty convinced it was the movie ... but after that scene I wasn't sure.

Or there were a few complaints about doing really old movies like The Mad Monster and The Corpse Vanishes so they had to stay away from stuff of this vintage....
