Reauthor woes
« on: October 01, 2009, 11:14:21 PM »
Anyone else having problems with their reauthors of this one? When I tried to remux using Muxman, I got a non-existent scene error. I was able to remux using IfoEdit, but the DVD was unplayable. I downloaded PgcEdit and had it delete useless cells and whatnot and now I'm using PgcDemux to demux the video (I already have the audio demuxed and mixed with the Rifftrax, of course). Hopefully it will work after this, but apparently The Matrix Revolutions has some crazy dummy cell kind of protection that DVDFab (my go-to ripper) doesn't get rid of on its own.

UPDATE:
I finally got the damn thing to work after fiddling around with PgcEdit long enough (a few hours of trying one thing after another). Now I'm waiting for DVDShrink to do its thing so I can burn it onto a DVD.

I tried using the full guide on one of the threads, and it cut out over half an hour of the beginning. I think that was just due to the fact that IFOedit wouldn't reauthor it, so I had to use Rejig, which probably didn't know how to handle to chapter times or something along those lines

I had no problems with the DVD Decrypter demux way of re-authoring.

I have "backed up" this movie a while back using my usual tools: DVD Decrypter and ReJig and I had no issues.
I haven't re-authored yet, but will be doing so this weekend.

Yeah, the funny thing was that the movie would play just fine after being ripped, but after I demuxed the video and tried to remux it, there was something weird in how the chapters/cells were set up and it confused Muxman. Luckily, I got it all figured out . . . at about 3:30 in the morning. Good thing I don't have to be at work until 2pm today. Hopefully you won't have the same problem.

the only extra thing I had to do was use Goldwave's compressor/expander tool and "boost the quiet parts" all the talking parts after downmixing the 5.1 to 2.1 the dialog scenes are hard to hear. After boosting the quiet parts it came out pretty good.

I was watching it earlier and I was wishing I'd made the commentary a little lower because during the dialog scenes if I turned it up so I could hear the talking, Mike and the guys sounded like they were yelling at me.

First there was rock climbing, then there was sandstorm, but no one was ready for . . . mumbly, whispered dialog!
