Just in from Capcom:
Quote
Aug. 13th – DuckTales Remastered launches on PlayStation Network, Steam, and the Wii U eShop
Sept. 11th – DuckTales: Remastered launches on Xbox Live

Quote
f that weren’t enough, there will also be a special boxed edition of DuckTales: Remastered for PlayStation 3 available at US retailers on August 20th, which will include a download code and an exclusive DuckTales Disney collector’s pin. The physical version will go for $19.99, while the digital version remains $14.99 on all platforms.

Ducktales was my my favorite NES game besides the Dragon Warrior series.   Might have to actually pick this one up.  Don't think I'll be spending the extra 5 bucks for a pin though.  I hope it has trophies.
I really wish the in-store copy was a physical version and not just a code with a pin.

Disgaea news! Even though I'm likely the only one who cares!

Disgaea D2- North American Release date is October 8th!

Disgaea 4 gets a Vita release in 2014. (And I've put hundreds of hours into each Disgaea game on the portables in addition to the time I put into their console versions.)

Disgaea 5 is in pre-production!

So is this going to be a video game we will actually enjoy playing, or will this be a bothering people on facebook for engine parts kind of "game".

What annoys me is that it's only Android and iOS. I've been a fan for years and this is what I get? No PC . . . really?

They said "initially".  They didn't say it wouldn't come to anything else.    Also...

I'm a fan of the old arcade games.  But they were cool because of the level design and the focus on clinging on walls.  There's definitely some of that in the trailer, but they seemed to focus more on the combat.  We'll see if it holds up to its predecessors.

Just seems a weird market to open to. I'd think they'd start with PC and then move to mobile if it was popular enough. But maybe that's because I don't have a tablet and have a crappy Windows phone that doesn't have half the apps that Android or iOS have. Never again, I tell you.

More news!

Deadly Premonition is coming to the PC.

Yeah, it's a badly playing game, but it's one of the more unique gaming experiences out there.

As some folks know, Atari is going through bankruptcy and selling off its assets.  The auctions are due to be finalized tomorrow, but we have a preliminary list of some of the winning bids.

Wargaming.net, the folks who make World of Tanks, now own the rights to the Master of Orion and Total Annihilation. On the latter title, they outbid Uber, who are making the spiritual sequel Planetary Annihilation. Wargaming also recently purchased the assets of Gas Powered Games, formerly run by Chris Taylor who was the developer of TA. Hmmm.....

Stardock, who make the Gal Civ series, now own the rights to Star Control. Well, the first two SCs at least. SC3 is still a legal mess. BTW, the folks who made Star Control now make a little thing called Skylanders, so they're doing fine.

Rebellion Interactive (the Sniper series and, er, 2000 AD) now own the rights to Moonbase Commander and Battlezone.

Tommo, who mostly distribute games and sell the current Neo Geo console, got the rights to Math Grand Prix, Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise, Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish and the Humongous studio. Er, good for them.

And Epic Gear, who I think are a Chinese hardware group, got the rights to the Backyard Sports franchise.

And apparently, some of the bigger titles, like Test Drive or Rollercoaster Tycoon, did not have their minimum bids reached.
