However, in news that I thought I posted last night, but apparently didn't, on March 18th EA is giving everyone who has registered a copy  of SimCity a free game as a bit of an apology for the downtime.  I suspect that EA will probably give the affected parties something that they might actually want to play, rather than starting off a whole new round of people bitching "I wasn't able to play Sim City when it launched, and you gave me a copy of The Saboteur to make up for it?"

And here's the list of games they're offering:
  • Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)
  • Bejeweled 3
  • Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)
  • Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)
  • MOHW (Standard Edition)
  • NFS Most Wanted (Standard Edition)
  • Plants vs. Zombies
  • SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition
So, an older Simcity game for those who just want to wash their hands of the whole affair and 3-4 games that are still selling at retail price. (And 2 popcap games. If you choose to pick up those, well, it's your own fault there.)

For the handful that aren't raging about the DRM, Bestbuy is selling Simcity at $20 off next week. ($39.99) That's not a bad price for Dead Space 3 (and a copy of SimCity.) You'll need to activate and buy it on Sunday, but hey, it still counts.

So... Capcom is making a Duck Tales game.

Huh.

And Firaxis is making an iOS game. Just weird.

Correction: Capcom is REMAKING the ORIGINAL Ducktales game. Wayforward is working with them to bring the ol' NES classic into the realm of HD graphics.

Okay, someone at Capcom must be on a nostalgia binge because this is also on the way:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/nQQ3zq4x4Kw?hl=en_US&amp;amp;version=3&amp;" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/nQQ3zq4x4Kw?hl=en_US&amp;amp;version=3&amp;</a>

I really didn't ever expect to see the D&D brawler games again. Wow.

Huh, interesting. I remember those games back when I had a huge MAME collection. They were pretty fun quarter eaters.  Might be kinda cool on an iPhone.

Hmm. If Capcom wants to take a year or two off from the zombies and focus on remaking games from their glory days, I'd be OK with that. (Don't tell Tyrant.) :^)

I'll take a MegaMan 11. Or Chip & Dale 2, because I never played the first one.

Yep. Pac-Man is correct.

Not sure why it took so long for the DND game, though, considering its popularity.  The only previous port was for the Japan-region Sega Saturn.

I'm 80 feet in the air in a JLG lift right now so I can't embed a video, but has anyone seen the trailer for the new metal gear solid game?  It's kind of awesome. If the whole game was as surreal and crazy with the same mood as the trailer, I'd almost consider buying a ps4 to play it. But I have a feeling a majority of the game play will be standar metal gear fare, and so therefore I remain skeptical.

And GLaDOS!  I don't recognize the robot eye though.
