Did we really need to hear Mike cough during the rift? (1:30 into the movie)
I mean,  don't they make a button for that or something??   

I enjoyed the riff, Mike always does a great job, but with all the hitting and violence adn blood and all
I really did not need the reality off Mike's physical ailments.

It spoiled the movie magic for me buy having reality rear its ugly head.

Really Mike, try a Ricola, or Robitussin  before your next solo outing.

And remember,

He's just exercising his right as a citizen of the internet to bitch about something.

That sort of thing doesn't bother me at all since Rifftrax isn't really a "natural" movie experience in the first place. Plus, it was an early solo riff, so Mike was still working out how to run things (like whether to use the mute button or not).

I'm pretty sure that mike is indeed a god, and that cough was just to humanize him a little bit to us so we didn't feel so bad about our own shortcomings.

Why else would it be there?  No other explanation, really.

Bingo!  That is it exactly.  Mike is a magical, mystical being, one of our "heroes," so to speak, and we do not allow him to have simple, human, foibles. 

It is the price he pays for our love and adoration.

Umm actually there is a waft of smoke drifting across the screen when Mike coughs, so it's not a missed edit but a subtle joke.

I believe Mike was referencing the fact that we are experiencing an EPIDEMIC of swine flu right now, and we should all band together.
