Yeah, I don't count David Carradine on this '3's List' either..  :-\

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and now Michael Jackson died of natural causes; not murder/suicide..

AEA not murder/suicide.
Ok then.. :-[

Incidentally, do we think Barbara Walters plays this before each obit show she does:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/7BMP-H2ydJk&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b&amp;border=1" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/7BMP-H2ydJk&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b&amp;border=1</a>

That old Chica's got to benefiting from the quickening somehow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2009_deaths

Thanks for that. I now know that "Bernard Ashley (businessman)" died... I am sad....

Also I do have to say that when someone famous dies there won't be a shortage of stuff for you to buy.  I had people FRANTIC to get their hands on MJ cds and DVDs and whatevers I had in stock at my store.

It doesn't change the fact that he is dead.  Just because he was controlling the situation doesn't change the fact that he was a celeb and he died.

But, if people want to exclude him due to time issues.....or, they believe the 3s rule is ballocks, fine.

Do you believe it is an ancient curse or something?

By what mechanism do you think it works?

If you believe in the "death of threes" please take five minutes to listen to this.

(Well, some of the conversation is about "numerology" too.)

There is no magic in mylar.  It's a hateful, clingy, fragile yet annoyingly sharp material that's scarred four of my fingers over the past decade.  A pox on mylar!

    • Yep, I have a deviantART gallery. But it's pretty cheerful drawings-- no angsty poems or black-and-white photos of wooden chairs.

Nah, there's no way in hell there's any force out there that's making celebrities die in 3s, but it certainly does SEEM to happen. Most likely it just happens often enough to stick out in our minds.

But yeah, my response was just like.... "He's fucking DEAD!?" Ed McMahon was at an appropriate age to die of natural causes, and Farrah Fawcett had very advanced cancer, so neither of those were particularly shocking. That's not to say it wasn't sad that they died, but Michael Jackson was FIFTY, man! That's no age to go! As far as I know he didn't have any life-threatening illnesses either.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

Some of my favourite gags so far.

"Tour coordinators in UK have had to cancel Michaels dates, Toby 7, Johnny 8 and Daryn 10"

"Neverland Ranch is apparently flying little boy's pants at half mast in honor of this fallen icon."
