How come Michael Bay couldn't be directing this instead of ruining a property that could be cool.

Bay, you're movies are already gay, do He-man Spend two years making He-Man so noone can watch it when it comes out and your career will finally be over.

The Dolph Lundgren film is an '80s classic, but I would like to see a new version set entirely on Eternia. I'm not a fan of the cartoon, but there's a lot of cool characters and ideas that I hope they include.

Two really interesting directors, and then a comedy director and a kids movie directors. Makes me wonder if they even know what direction they want to take this.

Actually, with the exception of the guys who did the Croods, they are all interesting choices to me.  Obviously Joe Cornish and Rian Johnson would be cool, though much like Duncan Jones directing World of Warcraft, I have a hard time envisioning it.  I LOVE Brick, but I don't think of Rian as the stylish kind of director for a fantasy/sci-fi movies that feature barbarians with lazer guns.  Not to say he can't do it, but I can't begin to imagine what he would do with it... which is rather exciting.

Anyway, the director of Mama is actually a bit interesting to me.  I never saw the film and the lukewarm response doesn't make me want to run to see it, but I have an inkling (a gut feeling) that he's someone like Alexandre Aja: someone who can do some subpar movies, but has enough of his own voice that he might be capable of something great.  For Aja, it was Piranha 3D, a movie that I have mixed feelings on, but feel that his voice rang through what could have been a purely pedestrian production.  I could be wrong, but I'm interested in it.  Not Cornish or Johnson interested, but interested.

As for Miller and Lord, these guys are really proving themselves a comedic force, but I think they could make a straight forward adventure fantasy easily enough.  Though the focus on Clone High, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street were laughs first, they definitely had a handle on characters and giving us protagonists to root for.  Personally, though, I'd much rather see them go the Edgar Wright route and have them do a Marvel movie.  Maybe Hulk.  After all, the most effective version of the Hulk had a big focus on humour.

Anyway, I must admit that these names make me FAR most interested in a He-Man movie that I would have ever expected.

BTW, Michael J. Straczynski would be a good screenwriter for this one.  I'm not as big a fan of MJS as LucasM, but the man knows the character (starting his career working on the series) and his Thor work (which is probably my favourite of his in the last 10 years) was a great example of him making a fun fantasy adventure series.

Anyhoo, this is all just speculation since while the list of names may be real, at this stage anything could happen and it is not too much different from fan speculation.

I think this could be awesome if done right. I've always loved me some Sorceress, and who doesn't love Skeletor?

If they went Conan-y with it and downplayed the magic a bit I think it could be a lot of fun.
