How hard is it to mispronounce sauna? Isn't it just SAW-NUH?

She would laugh mercilessly at you too :-)

She says that her state invented saunas and it's actually "SOW-NUH" and I'm an idiot for saying it my way.  Ok, she's not that *quite* that cruel but you get the drift.

SOW-NUH is the correct pronunciation. Sauna's were invented by the Finish or one of the other Scandinavian countries, and thats how they pronounce it.

Is your friend from South Dakota?

Maybe she said the people who founded her state then? That doesn't make sense either.  She's from MI and a mst3k fan so she could be reading this  :D  She had some big "and there can be no arguments" thing.

My girlfriend makes fun of me because I say cahfee instead of cawfee, and chahcolate instead of chawcolate. We can't all be from New Jersey, sweetie.  :-*  But I do say dawg. No one can disguise the New York accent entirely.

If you set up a community after the apocalypse make sure you build a chopper pad in case someone in a chopper happens to drop by.

I don't like it when people pronounce words like 'measure' or 'leisure' like: maysure or laysure

How could you not like Aunt Flavia? ;D

I've learned that Scotish people are natural comic reliefs because of a dominant gene.

Just try not to laugh.

I learned that only by getting two guys to dive out of a helicopter (that somehow got up to about 50,000 feet) and then plowing them into the ground headfirst can you get a dragon to chase another guy along the ground by riding a horse.  This third guy does NOT, apparently, need to dive out of a helicopter.  Into the ground.  Because the dragon will chase you anyway.  While you're on the ground.

It's like a studio exec lost a bet or something, the fact that this movie got grunted out into the bowl.

I learned that Ash is a vastly underused part of a daily balanced diet.

I learned that nature, somehow, decided that a large reptile should overproduce, eat everything in sight, then die out.   Then repeat that cycle every few thousand years.   Who needs balanced eco-systems?

I learned that Christian Bale can carry any movie that he is in.

I learned that Matthew McCanna...(sp)'s great performance in "Dazed and Confused" is looking more and more like an accident.
