That's exactly what I was thinking.  It didn't seem to have what English professors would refer to as a "thesis statement".  The closest I could derive from it would be "Technology is big and scary and all around us and gee, what will we do if it all goes poofty"?

Okay, the short was intended for Los Angeles, which was (and does) have severe safety and electric issues. Keep in mind, in California you have:

1. Tons of fires
2. Tons of electrical failure and brownouts
