Oddly, the next X-COM game will be an FPS. Works for me - I'm not big on RTS'.

(Twitch)

Believe me, we're aware of that. The previous attempt at an X-Com FPS was part of the sale yesterday in fact. But turning X-Com into a FPS is like making Portal 3 into a Bejeweled clone. It's not really what the fans of the series are looking for.

It's a turned based game, BTW, not a real time one.

Oh, and a lot of stuff at telltale is 75% off until June 30. Basically everything but Back to the future and Puzzle Agent 2. (Oh, and everything else that hasn't been released yet.)

Whoops hold up. the sale doesn't actually begin until June 6th, despite the sale banner's presence. So, Monday then.

Yeah, never mind. Prices are discounted when you enter them into the cart.

Sigh. I'm sorry, but I cannot divulge information about that customer's secret illegal account.
 [hangs up]
Oh, crap.  I shouldn't have said he was a customer.
Oh, crap.  I shouldn't have said it was a secret.
Oh, crap!  I certainly shouldn't have said it was illegal.
[sighs] It's too hot today.

Speaking of Best Buy, Alien vs. Predator for the PS3 is being sold there at clearance rates of $19.99 (or better...my store had it for $18).  I mention this not because the main game is amazing (it's decent at best), but because the online has REALLY dried up (not that there was much in the first place), and that's the portion I enjoyed the most.  There not much more joy in life than sneaking up behind somebody as the Alien and giving them the ol' "tail through the chest" trick.  The headbite is nice, too, but takes too long and other people can sneak up on you in the meantime.
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

To be fair, what I've read about the new X-Com game, it does sound pretty neat.  It carries all the research stuff over, and you have to pick between certain missions in order to level up your research or the skills of your men.  There's not been much heard from it lately though, so who knows what's going on with it.

Two deals for today only-

At Amazon, the DotD is the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft - $19.99. It doesn't go below MSRP very much, so here it is at 50% off.

And also at Amazon: Borderlands: The Game of the Year Edition is $11.99 for a download.

Today's Steam deal includes Beat Hazard for $2.49. Go. Buy this!

Also, if you're about to bite on Civ V at its $24.99 sale price via Steam, Amazon has the download version on sale for $19.99

As a Steam game, you'll have to import the serial number into Steam anyway, so you'll still have all the Steam "benefits."

At Amazon Fatal Frame for the PS2- $19.99 for a new copy.

How is this a deal? Used at Gamestop? $29.99

I'm guessing there's a reprint on the way here.

Fatal Frame, BTW, is one of the more unique horror games on the PS2 and Xbox.

Side note- apparently it's been that price at Amazon for, oh, three years. But it's still a good price for a great game. And it's still cheaper at Amazon than Gamestop.
