Currently 82 here!  :speechless:
That breaks the record in Charlotte shattering their previous record of 76 degrees (1976) and tying their record max of 82 for February (1930, 2011).

We were supposed to get snow last night, and I was worried on my way home from Black Panther I'd be seeing a bunch of snow and icy roads, but fortunately I didn't encounter one snow flake on the way home. We got about 99% of the snow before 8 am that morning and when it came time for me to leave it all already had melted or dried up.

I hate to tell you the really obvious RVR, but it could be a lot worse.

Supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight, then warm tomorrow so anything we get will melt, and then jump into the 70s for the middle of the week.

It's been snowing lightly for about half an hour but it's 45° out so it has not been sticking.

Storm came and went really fast, by 9pm it was over.  North of Philly got 5+ inches but around here I'd say only one inch.

    • Yep, I have a deviantART gallery. But it's pretty cheerful drawings-- no angsty poems or black-and-white photos of wooden chairs.

Upper 50s and raining for the next two days.

That's actually pretty normal for late in the season, you start getting teased like this. Soon we'll probably get a couple days of sun and upper 60s and everyone will stupidly believe winter is over and then it'll turn out not to be, like it ALWAYS does, you fools who've lived in the area even longer than I have!!!! ^_^
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

Back on this date 14 years ago, we woke up to one of the biggest snowstorms in Charlotte area history. In an amazing two days of snow that saw the area come to a standstill at noon time on the 26th when everyone left work and school at the same time. We saw two waves of snow with this storm. One during the day and another at night into the 27th. We even saw thundersnow (recorded in part 2) several times throughout the event.
I remember it so vividly, getting video of the event :
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/uZhN8SyAYz0" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/uZhN8SyAYz0</a>
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/cLFDc0XUb_k" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/cLFDc0XUb_k</a>
Records set during this storm:
Charlotte set a daily snowfall record on Feb 26, 2004, of 11.6”. This was also the 3rd biggest one-day total on record.
The storm total at the Charlotte airport was 13.2 “ the 3rd biggest storm in city history.

The heaviest amounts were here in Rock Hill and a couple blocks from me at Winthrop University recorded about 22” of snow. This was York Counties biggest snow on record and a top 3 storm in South Carolina state history. :o
