Luckily the freezing rain happening now is very light, more like freezing mist, and it's supposed to stay light.   With it being so cold the last 2 weeks if the rain was heavier it would have been very bad.

And it's warm enough so salt is working, so that's a big improvement over last week.

It's above freezing!  Exactly 2 weeks since it was last above freezing.  Read that it hasn't happened since 82, so I was right that in the 30+ years I've lived in this area it's never been this cold for this long.

    • Yep, I have a deviantART gallery. But it's pretty cheerful drawings-- no angsty poems or black-and-white photos of wooden chairs.

Unseasonable warmth and rain is coming.

It's been below zero and constantly snowing since fucking Christmas. THAT'S been the crazy part. A couple day's warmup is unseasonable but pretty much happens at least once every winter, but in my nearly 35 years, I have never seen us have THIS MUCH snow or get THIS cold THIS early in the season.

My mom swears it was like this a lot more when she was young, but I dunno if I totally buy that. I'm not saying my mom is a liar or derpy in the head or something, just, memories are funny like that. They keep being found to be increasingly unreliable sources of information.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

It's been snowing here in the Charlotte area most of the day :o
Got about 2 inches now and looks like it's tapering off

I don't know if it really qualifies as 'weather,' exactly, since it's space related, but has anyone here mentioned anything about the meteor that blew up over Michigan the other night?  I only mention it because I felt the thing explode, even though I was apparently nowhere near it.  I thought a transformer blew or a truck fell over on the interstate.  Kind of surprised it didn't make more news outlets, but here's a link about it from a local affiliate...
