I grew up in Wisconsin, and you didn't put plants in the ground before Memorial Day. It's unusual for such a late frost/freeze, but not unheard of.

Yeah, that. However, going on recent trends, it's part of a cavalcade of weird fluctuations, not least because we had some 70 degree days in February.

There was more burning hail today.  At least once you put out the fires, it's not that bad.  Much less annoying than when it rains the blood of the saints.

Apocalypse levels here in Frisco are very low today - limited to some wingnut in a sandwich board proclaiming "The End Is Near" wandering around Powell and Market.

Thunderstorms came through around 10pm, lighting hit pretty close, shaking the building and knocking out the power for 2 hours.  Kind of a shock to have the flash, sound, shaking, and the lights go out simultaneously.  So far all my electronic stuff is OK, luckily turned the computer off as soon as I started hearing the thunder, but I was watching the Phillies game so was a bit worried about my HDTV.
