Devious Call of Duty "Rerating" Question
« on: December 15, 2008, 02:45:30 PM »
So, a friend of mine has a 12 year old that wants the latest Call of Duty - WWII game for XMAS.    The problem is, his mom say that the game is rated M and said NO!

So, my friend wants me to take the game, scan in the cover, and replace the M with the T for teen rating, print it out and then give to his son.

So......... do you think we could get away with this scam?

Potential Issues:

1.   Does the game have M for mature stamped on the game disc itself?
2.   She knows the game is rated M since they have had "but why mom" discussions, be we think we can say my friend picked up the game at GameStop used (which is why there would be no cellaphane wrapping on it) cuz someone must have picked up the T for teen version by mistake.
3.   The photo paper I will print the game on will look nicer than the crappy paper the real game cover is printed on, but we think she will not notice.

Any comments, suggestions or potential pitfalls we may not have thought of.

Man, that would be a deal breaker there.    I cannot seem to find any google images.    Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

I just went through my entire game collection and all the disks had the ratings on them. I'd wager CoD would too.

Your friend wants to deceive his own wife to get on his kid's good side? Sounds like a great idea.

I say let someone who was in the war give him the game and occassionally throw rocks, dirt and ketchup at his head for added "fun."
