It's interesting that none of the anti-horror posters would discuss their point.

As a horror film fan, let me step up to the plate on that one to make a very, very bad joke.

Horror films are bad.  Richard Basehart is good.

That's about it.

So did Johnny Short Torso take his ball and go home.or did he say something that got him kicked off the board.  A solitary tear roles down my cheek thinking we won't get to hear any more of his comments.  He was one of the angriest posters out there and didn't listen to anyone else's opinions.

Just a reminder to everyone.  Discussion is good and everyones opinions matter.  If they differ from yours it's ok.

And Issac, you crack me up.  You should come up with a Lord of the Rings / Peter Jackson form letter similar to BBQ Platypus welcome letter.  It might save you some time.

How well made a film is has nothing to do with whether or not it's good. Peter Jackson's Hollywood films are, to me, very empty. Too much attention paid to the CGI and not enough to the actors/story/screenplay. A lot of the things that were CGI'd in Peter Jackson's recent films could have been created with traditional special effects. Unless CGI is used in a creative way that doesn't serve as the film's only appeal, like in Sin City, I don't have very much respect for it.

I view CGI as being inherently neutral, as I'm not too interested in the production techniques unless they force themselves on me; I thought LoTR was mostly pretty good about it, and it actually used a lot of real sets, makeup, and miniatures pretty cleverly. The battle scenes got annoying, though, and I was annoyed at Jackson's lack of restraint in the Battle of Pellinore Fields (he made the orc army so absurdly massive and invincible that he had to make the army of the dead into twice as much  of a deus ex machina.)

see issaac, when you defend your opinion like you did there no one jumps down your throat because you made a well reasoned argument on why the movies sucked for you.
