I learned that Indy seems to have bones made of iron, seeing as how he just walked away from a 3 mile tumble inside a lead-lined refrigerator...

I learned that a large piece of plastic filled with aluminum foil can take over someone's mind.
I loved how they ripped into what a crappy prop the skull was. Seriously, I swear it was just filled with wadded up aluminum foil.

Much as I'd love to blame the movie, I think we were the ones imposing Aztec-ness on it.   We thought it would be funny to ignore history like the movie does.    But maybe it was less "ha-ha" funny, and more "go to hell, you Rifftrax dopes" "funny."

Anyhoo, off now to survive the apocalypse in m' trusty fridge.   'Bye.

Oh no, I don't blame youz guys.. You all did Just Fine as usual..

I blame the movie as well.. Lucas mostly because of the Star Wars debacles; I'll let Spielberg slide on this one.. :-X

I thoughts it was pretty funny.  I just watched the movie the first time a couple of Fridays ago and liked it more than I thought I would.  Did the Riffydance last night and enoyed that too.  Laughed out loud several times which is a good sign for funny, right?

Since I saw Bill was peeking earlier I'll take a moment out to go fanboi and compliment y'all on how you really do make it seem like you're all over on my couch making faces and poking each other the whole time.  I know it's scripted and all, but you do come across as really "right over there", and I figure that's something you're trying for.

Anyway, good stuff.

I was a bit distracted when I first watched it, which just means I gotta watch it again (Oh darn).  Lot of great laughs, even in a distracted state.  I did have to pay attention to see if the one joke that came to mind immediately upon seeing the movie come to the riffer's minds too.  It didn't but there was another good one in it's place.  Maybe mine was too obvious.

Decent, not their greatest RT but solid. I was surprised they didn't rip on LaBeef and Blanchett more than they did. One gets the feeling this may have been rushed out the door a bit too soon. But even the weakest RTs have moments of brilliance, and this one has plenty of those.

Thoughts?  Don't try it with this movie. ;D

This is one movie that the more you think about it the more it falls apart.  In the moment, first time watching it's OK, after a few viewings it's flaws really come out, I'll probalby only watch it again with the Rifftrax.  Even Temple of Doom with the crazy magic stones holds up better than this one.

We've got:

Selective magnetism.
Mass X acceleration of a lead lined fridge being tossed several miles and landing = boneless Indy

Did the Roswell and other aliens come back to life when the one alien got it's head back?  And how did he/she/it lose it in the first place if it was held on with such strong "magnetism"? What was the deal with them all merging and getting their skin back?  Why did they need to "lift off" just to wink into another dimension?  The entire alien plot line is turned into a mess by the way they did the ending.

So many more, could go on for a long time.

One more thought:  They should have made Dr. Irina more evil during the movie, did they ever show her actually killing anyone?  Her fate at the end seemed a bit excessive for what she actually did during the movie.

You do realize in temple of doom, they fall from an airplane in a life raft hundreds (thousands maybe?) of feet and land unscathed. In the third movie, he jams a rock in a tank cannon and that causes it to backfire. Both completely ridiculous.

I dont get people who criticize the new indy film for the fridge scene. Clearly things have been tuned to a cartoon level in previous movies, so its not really that far fetched to do it here as well.

The fridge scene was by far my favorite in the film. It was the only time in the entire movie where I was reminded of that old Spielberg magic.

The raft thing doesn't require as much suspension of belief as the lead fridge.  You can lower your terminal velocity with more area, probably not enough to survive using a raft with 2 people inside but a lead fridge blasted several miles is going to land with some serious G forces.

OK, the bigger unbelievable part is that the amount of lead needed to stop Indy from being killed by the radiation from the blast would have to be much thicker, the fridge would stay where it was and melt from the heat.

I'll agree the rock in the gun was cartoonish.

If the ending was better it could all be forgiven and ignored, just like the previous movies.  I did like most of the movie, all except the stuff in and just after the temple/spaceship/interdimensional portal/whatever it was....

Lead does conduct heat doesn't it?  Or did it not in the 50's?
