Anyone else with a good book-discovering story?
« on: October 17, 2008, 04:25:31 PM »
I was out late a few nights ago walking the dog - no that's not a euphemism!

As I crossed the road I spied a book laying there..... probably fallen out of long gone parked car for it was near the kerb and close to a social club.

It was a book called Mister Monday by a chap called Garth Nix.

Never heard of him or the book.

Now I am totally hooked! Love it and apparently there's several in the series.....!

Thankyou god of books randomly falling out of cars (I presume that's what happened) a new one for the collection and enjoyable to boot

Oh wow. That is friggin AWESOME O_O

Clearly there is some benevolent divine agent at work in the world. ^__^

I think the closest I came to that was listening to a battered book-on-tape version of clive barker's  "Abarat" while working as a volunteer at the local library cuz I'd run out of listening material and my inter-library loans hadn't come in. I never just outright found a  good book though.

Na, I was at the mall.  No where to buy smokes there, and I don't do the other one anymore.

I once found a copy of The Satanic Bible lying in the street near a bus stop.

Was it stamped inside the front cover? "Placed by the Devil."
