Most short stories in my experience are nasty, hollow, strange, and pointless little peices of sputum that drain a little live out of me.
this seems worthy of my first post here...just over four pages, breaking the pig is a short story from the book, the bus driver who wanted to be god & other stories, written by etgar keret, of israel. the last story in the book, knellers happy campers, was made into the amazing 2006 movie, wristcutters: a love story. very talented writer who has written some incredibly short short stories. http://books.google.com/books?id=ZtPdugUKVMkC&printsec=frontcover&dq=the+bus+driver+who+wanted+to+be+god&ei=Dtu-SeHxF4KwzgTzxMzJDA#PPP9,M1
