Time, howling, withering! - Dark Shadows
« on: August 04, 2008, 12:07:37 PM »
So since it's supposeidly comming to a movie theatre near you relatively soon and it still has a bunch of fans I thought it might be worth starting a thread devoted to all things Dark and Shadow

So who likes Dark Shadows out there?

Couldn't find a good vampire emoticon  ::)

I can't wait to see what Burton does with Collinwood!  Do you think he would cast Helena Bonham Carter too... as Elizabeth Collins perhaps?

I think he could do a pretty interesting job, but i wonder if Helena's a little too young for Elizabeth, but then she's a little to old and dark for Vicki.

Seeing as it's Burton thought I'm sure she'll be in it.

Oh my goodness, I used to love the old "Dark Shadows" tv show and the movies that they made.

When I was a little kid, I would walk home from school, my mom would turn on the TV, turn out the lights and we would watch Dark Shadows.

I was wondering when they would get around to making a remake.

I think Depp could pull it of nicely.

What's Dante's Cove?

Also "good" is such a tricky thing to quantify. ;)

Dark Shadows is kind of what Passions would look like if it tried to take itself seriously...

Yeah from what little I've seen of Passions that sounds a good description*, though it was telenovella format essentially so it's also quite like Port Charles (again I'm going by very little experience of that General Hospital spin off).

*Didn't Dr Bombay from Bewitched turn up in Passions from time to time, not the actor, the character?

Yes, he was mentioned a lot but I don't think he was ever actually portrayed by an actor.   There were a lot of references made to world of Bewitched throughout the course of the show.  (And I will admit I watched the show for about three years   :) )

You know maybe if this show was on when I was a kid, I might not have this seething hatred for Soap Operas now. Either that or it might have gave me an even more bitter hatred for the format.

School sometimes was more entertaining for me then the crap that was on during the day.
