Damn your eyes! Too late...

« on: December 14, 2007, 11:57:31 AM »

Have you ever wanted to hear Mike, Kevin and Bill read your words, perform your jokes and obey your commands? Here’s your chance to write part of a RiffTrax of the unintentional comedy classic Batman & Robin, performed by the Grand Masters of Riffing themselves—Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy & Bill Corbett.

Make no mistake – this is not a DIY or a Fan Riff but a FULL RiffTrax.

Chris Hanel and James Whistler of RiffRaff Theater will be running the show. They're the point men, the big kahunas, Numero Unos, and the Men in Charge! So to submit materials please go to www.riffrafftheater.com. Follow the instructions there on how to write your script and where to send submissions.

Chris and James will gather up the submissions, pick the best material, edit it all, and put together the final script that will be presented to RiffTrax for the recording. And get this—if your material is used you will get your very own copy of the RiffTrax Batman & Robin poster!

By submitting your materials you agree to the terms of the RiffTrax Writer Agreement Terms & Conditions . These Terms & Conditions are also available at www.riffrafftheater.com.

Good luck, and get riffing!

Yes, this will be an official RiffTrax release, for sale on this site.

The script will be written BY YOU, the fans of RiffTrax (and anyone who wants to get in on the action - tell your friends! Send them here!!), compiled and edited by Riff Raff Theater, and delivered into the hands of Mike, Kevin, and Bill to do with it what they do so very well. Smiley

Instructions for submissions will be posted on www.riffrafftheater.com and linked here soon. For those who have worked with Riff Raff Theater before, the process for writing will be very similar, with some ease of use improvements (like an online submission form).

Guys and gals, this is a GOLDEN opportunity to hear the riffmasters themselves performing YOUR jokes, so get out your riffpens, point your phasers at "AHNOLD" and the rest of the Batman and Robin stooges, and let the riffs fly! Smiley

Excellent! I'm on it!

I've got several friends who can contribute. We're amateur riffers ourselves, so hopefully we can come up with something slightly funny.

Ok, so will they be writing their own jokes as well as using the submitted material?

Wow!  This is big news!  Not just that they are gonna do an entire fan written riff, but they are finally gonna do Batman And Robin!

I need to try and find the time to get in on these riffs, not just this one but the Tron and Speed ones too.  The Tron one is due tomorrow, correct?  Well, if I get home from my company holiday party tonight in any sort of shape to try and write something up for Tron to get it in by tomorrow, then I'll give it a whirl.

Even if you don't use any of my riffs for that, it will still be cool to have participated.

And I need to get me a copy of Speed and B&R ASAP!

This is really really cool!

I would think that all other fan project would need to be put on hodl in favor of doing the absolute best Batman & Robin script for the gang. Don't you?

Well the Tron riff is just about finished, deadline tonight I believe.  And the Speed riff actually has a live show associated with it, so I doubt they would want to drop that at the moment.

There's plenty of funny to go around, I'm sure.

Yeah, it's pretty much full speed ahead for us. Like Monty said, Tron's deadline is today and we've committed no release date for that. Speed we can't move, we have a live show commitment and we'll make it work as best we can.

Also, I will state this right now -- I have spoken to Mike and he has agreed that they will perform as is: they'll leave it as is and perform without any additions or changes of their own. However, the script we're turning over is going to be PG-13 or cleaner, so don't think that by writing down a bunch of filthy jokes you're making Mike make an ass of himself -- our job as editors is to make Mike look good as well.

This is certainly cool.  Hopefully everyone who contributes can at least get a line in.  Certainly plenty of opportunities in B & R.

Wow! This is like the ultimate way to do the ultimate fan choice!
Mike, Kevin, and Bill should send submissions like the rest of us but with false names, see how they fare.  Smiley
