Movie-Watching Machine

WWW
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:12:27 AM »

After the relative success of the last attempt to do one of these, I thought I'd give it another go.  The premise is very simple: Give me some recommendations of films to watch and I'll watch 'em and review 'em.  There are only a few rules:  They must be films I've never seen before (I'll provide a list, but you don't need to worry about checking it, I'll do that) and they must be either a theatrical or straight-to-dvd release - no Hallmark movies! I'll put no cap on the amount of movies a person recommends, but I will not accept suggestions like "every Van Damme movie" - be specific!  There is only one condition under which I will not be able to watch a suggested movie and that is if it's not available to me for viewing for whatever reason.  I will try my hardest to acquire any movie on the list though.

If you want to specifically check the list of film I've seen, here's the link, though be warned, it may take a while to load:

http://www.imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=896797

There's also one other thing I'd love people to do, and that's join in! Zombie-thon proved to be really cool because lots of people got involved, and it'd be nice to see some people other than myself be subjected to the upcoming torment that I'll no doubt endure.  Smiley

Here's a list of the films suggested, with ones that I've seen crossed out:

Begotten
The Passion of Joan of Arc
Pink Floyd’s The Wall
Waydowntown
Bon Cop, Bad Cop
Hank and Mike
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
The Adventures of Milo and Otis
Martyrs
Burnt by the Sun

Vase de noces

I'll just copy and paste my last recommendations:

Begotten
The Passion Of Joan Of Arc
Pink Floyd: The Wall

I'd be down for joining in on a couple, but i'll need more than a title to decide which ones i'd like to watch. Little descriptions or wiki links would be helpful! I'm certainly not a movie-machine, and there's no way i'd get around to watching even half of the final list. But it sounds fun though.

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (4 luni, 3 saptamâni si 2 zile)
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (Le scaphandre et le papillon)

Two of the best foreign language films (4 Months being one of my favorite movies) I've seen and they both came out in the same year within 2 months of each other.

I apologize in advance for these, but Die Hard Dracula and Stanley Cuba.

I'll try to think up something good later. Though one of my friends did like Stanley Cuba.
