I mostly watch just the Black and white episodes too. John Adams was great even if it did play with some facts.

Alias season one discs one and two.
My brother bought these discs at moviestop and didn't like it but after I enjoyed Star trek so much i decided to give it a shot. From the adds i was expecting something awful but you know what it is a pretty good show. It is kind of over the top and dumb but in a fun way and all the actors are good and the stories are exciting. I have now added the rest of the discs to the top of my netflix Q. my favorite part so fare is when the villains are trying to assassinate the one guy and they plant a bomb in his chest,talk about cool.

I've never cared for the "grrl power" shows like that, or Buffy, or Dollhouse.
Been watching MST as I do laundry.

I don't care for girl power shows either but this show is kind off about a whole cast more then most shows. I mean it is about one character in is the snese that most episodes are told from her point of view but the whole cast tends to get equel time and it does a good job of keeping the tention going episode to episode and it doesn't treat Sidney like some kind of superhero she gets her but kicked a lot when she goes up against guys bigger then her and only really exscapes by the skin of her teeth. It's not a show i would buy on DvD but I am enjoying the stories enough so far to rent it off of netflix.

Got out the DVD set and watched a bunch of Brisco County Jr. episodes last night. Man that was a good show, would have been nice to have gotten one more season.

Are you looking forward to the film? I'm always torn when it comes to actual films because they always want to Hollywood-ize things, add nudity, change history, make people talk like 21st century, etc. so I try not to get my hopes up. Last TV stuff I watched: the Thanksgiving eps from The Bob Newhart Show, a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, MST Alien from LA, and the Carol Burnett show, which needs to be released on DVD |

.....and the Carol Burnett show, which needs to be released on DVD Saw a banner ad on IMDB in the last week or so for a box set of Carol Burnett....but Googled and can't find anything that isn't Gunthy-Riker or "grey market". Maybe it's in the works.... |

Are you talking about the Young Victoria, with Emily Blunt? I really enjoyed that movie. And no, it's not at all racy. Yep that's the one, not sure when it's coming out exactly but obviously I'll see it in the first week. |

"Sordid Lives"......a few episodes out of the 12 that were made. A "black comedy about white trash" it centers on a small town in Texas and a family with a Gay semi-closeted son out in Hollywood working on an acting career (and dodging a stalker ex-girlfriend who doesn't even get it when she walks in on him and another guy), an Uncle who is committed to a hospital for wanting to dress up as Tammy Wynette (his therapist plans to cure his homosexuality and transvestism as a way to get on "Oprah") and everyone else is either sexually frustrated, obsessed with keeping up appearances, on Valium or all of the above.
Thing is, this was spun off from a movie (adapted from a play) and the episodes take place before the events of the film. And as the film centers around the funeral of one of the characters where all sorts of chickens come home to roost.... Even though there's enough jokes and weird situations to be entertaining, it still suffers from being a prequel if you watched the movie.
I just tried it because it features Olivia Newton-John in an acting role....and I wanted to see under what circumstances someone would still let her "act". So far, the role is very brief and superficial so it works....

I love supporting period piece films, and anyway I love non-American cinema. And the last TV stuff I've watched are my 2 VHS tapes of the Carol Burnett show--12 hours of Carol Burnett!!! |
