Post by: Rattrap007 on July 03, 2008, 11:48:39 AM
Ok ?I know it hasn't been released yet, but if this is the one I suggested that has Bob Crane in it I will be tickled pink!

Do you have a link?  I tried looking up "Patriotism" on archive.org, but none of the results looked likely.

I imagine it's being uploaded right now. Hopefully it'll be up by the time I get back from the store.

I've only seen it on a DVD from the Prellinger Archives in the one titled Patriotism.

here is the thread I suggested it in (http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,9725.0.html)]

hope it is the same one. If it has Bob Crane then it is the same one.

So Patriotism is like drugs too, does that mean drugs are patriotic?

I'd love to see a modern version of this short

"Billy had a dream last night that his next door neighbour was a terrorist... Billy called his local authorities, and the neighbour was arrested and waterboarded until he confessed to crimes he didn't commit.  Billy is a true patriot."

I can't believe Bob Crane was in this short, that's unbelievable. Next thing we know we'll be watching a bad movie with Peter Lawford, Jim Backus, Pat Buttram, Arthur Godfrey, Alan Hale Jr,  and Jack Palance

Now now, don't be silly.  What kind of movie would have a cast like that?  It'd have to involve a huge amount of drugs.

Looking at Bob Crane in this short, it is hard to believe that his personal life was the way it was.   He seems so wholesome.   Then again, so did Mickey Rooney and Bing Crosby.

Funny thing is, I never would have guessed that out of the two, David Bowie would turn out to be the best father.

Well I could make it more obvious by saying it involves some girls taking a van to 'splode a huge amount of drugs.   ;D

I got the sense from this video that Communism is patriotic.

I had a similar reaction once to a 50's political cartoon depicting an endless field of pre-fab houses that all looked indentical and a woman asking where she lived. Asked to describe it in one word, I said Communism. They would have loved me back then.

I'm convinced I'd have been burnt at the stake if I was born anytime before 1960 or so.

Bob Crane really went downhill after Hogan's Heroes.

Someone asking if Yukio Mishima was going to be in it probably would have made me laugh (partially because of the Paul Schrader connection between Mishima and Bob Crane), maybe not many other people though:

Ray Nankey directed this film.... and then directed two XXX films. That's this entire filmography.

Oh, Bob...
