The Happening (http://www.thehappeningmovie.com/)!
"Yeah, Baby!"
"This is my scene, and it freaks me out!"
"Join The Happening! It's Groovy!"
"Come To The Happening! There's A Twist At The End!"
Just throwing out some slogan ideas for M. Night's new movie.
*twist*
We've sensed it.
We've seen the signs.
And now.... I am still confused. ???
Hmm, if I'm not mistaken, a "happening" is another word for a prank or a sketch where the audience is fooled.
hmmmmmm it looks like a plague. cool. i like shamalamadingdong, i don't care what anybody else says
Me too, all of his movies are in my top 20...even the village and lady in the water...top 50 maybe
I'm thinking maybe it's some sort of 2012 thing. It would be the right time to realease such a film.
So................................... Bees?
The Rapture.
wait, this seems familiar

Anyone seen the trailer for M. Night Shyamalon's new movie? I think it looks pretty dang good.
Course, Shyamalon is one of my favorite directors so I could be pretty biased (yes I am one of the few that actually thought Lady in the Water was good). But I love his movies for the way he makes characters that seem real, and they do what any ordinary person would do during the extraordinary events he puts them through. I find them all really compelling (yes even lady in the water).
hey...I made that!
The trailer looked pretty good to me too.
M Night has my $9 every time.
It seems he's the new 'designated easy target' for people who can't be bothered forming their own opinions, Unbreakable still rules.

Unbreakable is one of my all time favorite movies...
Except for maybe bratpop, I don't see where anyone made fun of him. And my post was in jest of the trailer's cryptic clues, I'll still see this movie and probably enjoy it.
I was only making fun of his apparent lack of 60s knowledge. But how can you not make fun of a guy who refuses to tell you what his movies are about? Or the people who go see them anyway? The marketing department must hate his weird little guts. "What do you mean we can't show ANYTHING in the trailer? Dammit!"
Yeah! I mean why would you want to see a movie without knowing what's going to happen? that's just crazy!

Exactly. Too many marketing departments nowadays give away the best stuff in the trailers.
While it's true that marketing departments give WAY too much away about the movies (best example is Identity, where for the sake of showing an explosion, they actually revealed which of the guy's personalities was the bad guy, which was the whole point of the movie), not knowing ENOUGH about a movie is what led me to accidentally see Can't Buy Me Love based purely on the title (we were on a date and assumed it was some kind of chick flick... what a twist!).
I've yet to even remotely enjoy an M. Night movie when I've eventually seen it, and I'm fairly certain that I'm capable of forming my own opinion, so I'm not hating him just because I can't make decisions for myself. Wait, aren't I?
M. Night movies are only any good if the "twist" actually surprises you. If, like me, you have a nasty habit of figuring out what is going on 10 minutes into the movie, the rest of the movie is really quite boring and stupid. It really pissed my wife off when she forced me to sit down with her to watch The Others and I turned to her after 12 minutes and said, "So how long have all of them been dead?"

Er well, I disagree because I saw that movie and the trailers didn't spoil anything. In that case, I'm guilty of not knowing what it was about and only saw it for John Cusack.

Agreed.

One of the trailers showed the kid standing in front of the car as it exploded, looking angry and evil. That was the scene where, in the movie, you found out the kid was the bad guy. They showed it in the trailer because it's the only explosion in the whole movie - and god forbid we have a movie trailer that doesn't have explosions in it.
Actually I didn't even remember the kid was the "bad guy," so I'll just shut up now.
This doesn't seem like it would be about the "rapture" since these people can "see" something coming (if the trailer is accurately depicting the movie that is).
Either way, I'm actually really excited to see this movie. M Night is weird, and The Village was unbearable but I enjoy his style.
I like Shyamalon, because even though his movies make it look like they are about what they show...there is always a deeper message inside of it. Like in Signs...it wasn't an alien movie, it was a man who had lost his faith, who gets it back through extraordinary events...hmm, thats actually true with all of his movies.
Strike that - Village was not unbearable, I was thinking of the wrong movie. I didn't think Village was the best but it was alright. I meant to say "Lady in the Water."
I think the Village would have been better for me if I hadn't figured out the twist halfway through the movie. or if the monsters had been real. The Village was a dissapointment for me because I had really liked Signs, The Sixth Sense, and Unbreakable.
