I know, I know, I'm late by 8 members, but I was watching the wrong number some how. Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate the 1000 Round Table member itsizz (probably, we think) for being so lucky as to join after 999 of us, and being in a position to symbolize the progress and growth of Rifftrax.
The Round table has only been in existence for 3 months and it already boasts 1000 members, and an unknown amount of customers. It has taken strong root, and has certainty past my expectations for popularity. I see a long future ahead of Rifftrax, with many more riffs and tracks to be had.
The Round table is also something unique. Its knights discuss with a certain restraint that I don't hesitate to call chivalrous, despite the shortage of females. Even though we adamantly fight for our right to hear cussing in our Rifftrax, it is rarely used in the forums even though there are no laws against it. The Round Table does have its jesters, but they are silly folk that do little harm and eat little spam.
So I give a mighty Huzzah for Rifftrax, and a hearty welcome to all those new. Come and join the fun, I'm sure you'll find a seat somewhere.
As of 3:47 pm Central time (1:47 Pacific), there are a total of 944 members in the members list: http://rifftrax.com/smf/index.php?action=mlist
However, in the forum's statistics page, it cites 1,011 total members: http://rifftrax.com/smf/index.php?action=stats
That leaves 67 members unaccounted for.
Just throwing it out there. ;)

Yeah, somebody's got some splainin' to do.
Oooh are there dead people signing up for the round table? :D
BTW, love your new name and avatar Sharktopus! Er, Captain!
Membership counts are one thing, it's another when you figure out how many of those people are actually active in the community.
Of those 1,000 or so members, only 150 have 10 posts or more. And only 500 or so have posted at all. Lots and lots of lurkers it seems.

I figure if you made the effort to sign up, you probably bought a Rifftrack or two, so the tally isn't entirely superficial.
And I noticed the discrepancy in the two numbers. I have no idea how to explain it, maybe a mod will clue me in. So if the 1000th member has not yet joined, then I will wait in anticipation. But my statement that Rifftrax seems to be doing well still stands. And this board is still cool. The end.
Don't forget the thousands of people buying Rifftrax who are not members of the board. We did some numbers a while back, just using your merchant transaction numbers as a baseline...
I just bought The Grudge Rifftrax and my transaction ID is 247692
My transaction ID for Roadhouse was 135449
That's a difference of 112243. If that number actually translated into units sold, I'd say that things are going quite well.
Hopefully there are many folks like me. Even though I have only posted a handful of times, I've bought every rifftrax so far and will continue to buy them as long as Mike (and crew) continue to make them. Great stuff!
I counted the number of members we have, and as of 11:47pm Central on 11/15/06, the forum has 974 members.
So we have a tiny bit more to go before we hit 1,000.
how do you tell what your member number is?
go to the member area, organize by date registered, and then have fun counting.
