Setting aside the technical side of it (there are other threads for that)... What'd you think?
A solid and entertaining 10 minutes, I think. The old anti-drug films do make for an easy riffing target, but still good fun.
The girl did look ten times better after the drugs...
Drugs are bad, mmmmkay?

Yeah, I mean, if the point was to point out the ravages of drugs, don't trot out this very pretty woman and go "See, SEE what the drugs did to her looks?"

When I first noticed that, I thought I might be having a stroke, but no, that is how they filmed it.
I thought the riffs were funny but I was a bit annoyed that they had to sorta talk over the narration to make em.

I think they had to as the narrator filled up every second of time with blather.
Riffrax Shorts are like "H" man! One hit and you're hooked! >:D
Funny stuff! Keep them coming!
I can say that here in Ameh de Kah, I love the Rifftrax shorts.
I love it! These shorts are great.
One thing, though. Enough with the Daddy Day Camp. WE KNOW. It's not funny. I'm always one for running jokes, but this one really wasn't ever funny. I hate According to Jim, Who's Your Caddy, and Daddy Day Camp as much as the next guy, but I don't need to be reminded how bad they are in every single RiffTrax.
This one just wasn't funny. Now and then was humorous, but not really funny. "Lunchroom Manners" and "Act Your Age" were both MST3K quality, not sure what happened to this one.
Can't say I'm feeling this one. Couple issues I had:
The riffing was a bit quieter than the actual film itself, which I think in itself detracts from the experience a bit. The only thing you should have to worry about is the jokes.
The short itself lacked those quiet parts needed to throw something in. It doesn't work that well when you interrupt someone mid-sentence because it comes off forced.
The '50s era riffs are becoming played. Commies, paranoia, yeah yeah....
I have to agree that this one is not as funny as the previous ones. I love the shorts though.
Thanks for the reminder; Its about time my neglected Heroin Room got a make-over.
Maybe a tropical motif with bamboo and Zebra skin. Some incense and purple pillows. Something "up."
Thanks again guys.
This was great stuff, I've always cracked up at the old "horrors of drugs" movies that never really show anything like the real effects of drug use. Great riffing, I had to kind of smack myself a few days ago wondering "why aren't we seeing new Rifftrax for so long" then realizing we've had content being thrown at us the entire time we've been waiting for a full track between a couple shorts and the political ads and stuff. Great stuff.
As terrible as this truth thought itself, it is still not as bad as Al Gore's truth, which he said was only an inconvenience. One of the two of them is lying.
The real terrible truth??? The guy who was speaking wasn't always moving his lips.... Now that is freaky! Or maybe I was just stoned on heroin.
His chest wasn't moving either, and yet strangely I could see veins pulsing on his forehead. Telepathy, we shall never know.
Well, it was about average for a riff, which is still pretty dang awesome.
But thank you, thank you, thank you for making it so I could download one already merged/synched file, and in DVX format no less! It's just so much better to watch on the teevee, like the good old days of MST, with some ringdings or a ham sammich and sweet, sweet booze.
And I for one LOVE that you turned down the sound on the movie during the riffing Seriously, I don't care what the movie guys are saying at that point. I only care about the smart-assed comments from Mike and the ex-bots.
That girl did look hotter after the drugs though.

I don't know. I laugh every time I hear it...
We watched it last night, I REALLY hope they can keep releasing the shorts like this, it makes them so much easier to watch. In fact, even though I've bought all of the shorts, this is the only one we've gotten around to watching.
Thought it was great as usual. S'just a quick rifferama innit. Keeps us warm at night :)
And the movie made me look at the spliff I was chuggin and ponder things. So I finished it and am now a full-on heroin addict. Thanks movie-short and thanks rifftrax. My life is now full of jive-talking better-looking ladies dealing H. 8)
Isn't nature wonderful

I laugh every time I hear that Fred Savage actually got a directing job. He must have been given some very bad advice from Rob Reiner. Of course, from him there's only one type of advice anyways.
I really enjoyed this- I'm slightly behind with my Rifftrax shorts so I just downloaded this, the Cathy one and the brand new Coffeehouse one and watched this first.
I've been using the MP3 files and manually synching to the archive videos...I don't reauthor anything as I can't be bothered, but I did want to express my support for the DRM free shorts as it was so much easier just to watch the MP4 than the messing about involved otherwise. I'm glad there's another one released, hope it is the second of many!
As for the Riff itself, I really enjoyed it- the only thing that bothered me was the creepy judge who seemingly spoke without moving his lips...
why did he say America like a Middle Eastener? 2 prisons just for drug users? wow, he'd probably blow up if he saw it now. What's up with blaming it on the "reds"?! too funny
Well, now we can blame it on hippies... Reds, hippies, what's the difference?
