Martial arts movie legend Sonny Chiba has died at the age of 82 due to the Delta Varient of COVID-19 believed to have entered Japan during the Olympics.
As the superhero Space Sharp Chief, Chiba saved the Earth from the Invasion of the Neptune Men. His movie Sudden Attack/The Killing Fist, released in the United States as The Street Fighter became the first martial arts movie to earn an X rating for violence, mostly due to such scenes as Chiba's character Terry Surgery ripping the testicles off his opponent mid fight. His best known role in America was the swordmaker in Kill Bill. I have a lot more to say about his extraordinary movie career, but the train I am on is about to go into a tunnel.
You mean Space Chief? According to the Wikipedia page it was Iron Sharp in the original Japanese version.

IMDb claimed it was Space Sharp, as did Wikipedia. I originally thought the character was Prince of Space, but apparently the Japanese have very little imagination with their superheroes, giving them all the same costume, powers, stick gun and rocket ship.
