Title: Things we learned from Rockrocking the Law...2!
Post by: fodder650 on September 08, 2020, 11:49:07 AM
Once again we learned that the eighties ended somewhere around 91-92
We learned that women weren't the only ones rocking big shoulders in suits even when you actually HAVE big fricken shoulders. COME ON!
Guns are for the weak
Radios are for other police departments
Resumes and background checks aren't in this universe and yes I know it was brought up in the script
Was this shot in South Africa? It sort of feels that way.
Doesn't Drago look like our lead from Kill and Kill Again and methane kill from Space Mutiny?
That's a lot of LTD's out on set. Maybe it wasn't South Africa.
When your the Chief then your underlings will just blindly follow you.
Oh and a Room plot connection.

I learned that a movie could have 3 or 4 characters that were so interchangeable in their looks and acting that it made what was really a straight forward rather thin plot confusing in ways that shouldn't have been confusing.

I learned I enjoyed the actual movie a little more than ML 1. It seemed a bit better in a direct to VHS sort of way.
I learned that I was excited to discover Jeff Wincott was in this, since I loved him as Top Dollar in The Crow and Alan Rickman's cousin in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Then I learned it was Michael Wincott I was thinking of and became less excited.
I learned the only stuff i could determine was cut was a scene with Rothrock beating up some purse snatchers, and a few second here and there out of fight scenes.
I learned this felt like it was more about the bad guy than the heroes.
I learned the heavy in this was taken out easily. It would have been more fun if he had been eaten from the inside out by rats, like in 'Rats:Night of Terror'
I learned this was the fifth outing with Rothrock. With my CR rifftrax playlist being Honor and Glory  number 1, Santas Summer House as 2. This third. A cameo in Star Raiders making it a 4th from a Rothrock perspective. And MA 1 last.
I learned the female heavy was taken out too easily by Rothrock. I wanted to see my chick fight with women that could actually beat up people.
And speaking of women that could legit beat up people in movies, I recalled kickass fighter and pseudo actress Kathy Long (also from Santa's Summer House) and that I want to see them riff 'Knights' with her, Kris Kristofferson, and Lance Henriksen in it. It's a direct to VHS about a kickboxer and a robot leading a revolt against cyborgs. How is that not rifftastic gold?
